Can Thornton Hall host my civil ceremony?
Yes, all of our function suites are licensed for civil ceremonies. Once you have decided to hold your ceremony here, you will need to contact Birkenhead Registry office on 0151 606 2020 to arrange your ceremony
Do I need to have a minimum number of guests?
We work on a minimum expenditure basis. This is the minimum amount that you would have to spend on all pre-ordered food and beverage and this changes depending on the month, day and suite in which you wish to marry. For example, there is a higher minimum expenditure for a Saturday in August than a Saturday in November.
Can I bring in my own venue dresser?
Bridal parties are more than welcome to bring in their own venue dressers or we can provide contact details for the companies we work with
Can I bring in my own Entertainment?
Again, this is fine as long as their equipment is PAT tested and they have public liability insurance.
Can I have confetti?
Yes, as long as its bio degradable
Can I have candles?
Yes, as long as they are in a holder which is higher than the flame when lit. Candelabras are fine as well.
Can I have Fireworks?
We do allow fireworks, but because of restrictions placed on the Hotel due to our semi rural location, we can only allow approved firework specialist. The Sales Office can provide you with a list of these companies together with the restrictions.
What time can the bar be open to?
Thornton Hall has a 24 hour licence so it’s up to the Bridal party as to the time, however we do need to know in advance due to staffing purposes
Can I supply my own food when Thornton Hall is catering the event?
The only food which can be supplied by the Bridal Party is 1 wedding cake only, additional cakes eg cupcakes can be supplied by the Hotel. If a bridal party wishes to bring in any additional food which is normally catered for by the Hotel, agreement must be sought by the General Manager prior to the wedding.
